While I post a lot about clothes and shopping – I have a passion for fashion in case you didn’t know ;), I also love to decorate! I am not an expert by any means, but I enjoy decorating my home for the different seasons. I also happen to love fall, and since I’m spending more time at home this year, I may have gone a little overboard! I get most of my inspiration from other people’s photos or Pinterest, so I wanted to share a few of our home with you all today.
I picked up the mums on the porch from Costco and the pumpkins are from Markman’s Pumpkin Patch in Omaha. If you’ve never been, you need to go! There’s not an admission fee or any extras, just a huge field of pumpkins you can go out and pick (if you go early enough), or once October hits, they bring all the remaining pumpkins in and sell them from huge bins. I always leave with a trunk full of pumpkins for around $20.
Our entry/sofa table always gets a seasonal update. I picked up three of these light-up aluminum pumpkins from Hobby Lobby a couple years ago and they are among my favorite fall decor because I can leave them up September – November. I found the orange “Home” pumpkin this weekend at Bath & Body Works of all places for 50% off, and I can never resist picking up a fall scented candle while I’m there!
I didn’t change much on our mantle for fall, other than adding this “Boo” banner from Nordstrom. I have banners for Thanksgiving and Christmas, too!
This shelf that sits near our TV stand in the family room is always fun to decorate for the season, too!
Another Hobby Lobby pumpkin, my Scentsy and a little chalkboard sign I picked up at a craft fair sit in one corner of the kitchen. I love being able to change the sign to fit the season with different quotes or verses, or using it for different events like we did for a cross country team dinner we hosted at our house last week.
I can’t forget the basement when decorating for fall, and I can’t decorate for fall without a little tribute to Nebraska football (thanks for the canvas, Mom)! I try to incorporate most of my Husker stuff into the basement decor, since the pops of red fit right in with the color scheme of the existing decor.
Our bar area in the basement needed some fun decor, too! The Halloween tree and spider are from Pier One, the leaf frame is from Hobby Lobby and the other decorations are a mix of Hy-Vee (witch’s hat), Target (Spooky sign) and Nordstrom (Husker frame).
I had to add a little pumpkin and some moss to the lantern that sits on the basement table year-round. I’ll change it out for Christmas ornaments once Thanksgiving is over.
Thanks for coming along on our fall home tour! I’ll be decorating for Christmas before I know it and I can’t wait to share some more photos with you! Have a great week!
XOXO, Jenna
